This website has been designed to meet W3C standards WAI-A (Web Accessibility Initiative - Level A), CSS level 2.1, and XHTML 1.0, and as such is viewable in the widest range of browser software in use today and in the future.

This site has been tested and is known to work in the following browsers: IE 6/7, Netscape 7.0+, Firefox 1.0+, and has been known to display properly in Mac/Safari, Mac/Firefox, Windows/Opera, but the site has not been rigorously tested in those environments.

Server Environment

This site was developed to international standards and uses opensource software for its infrastructure. The following standards and opensource initiatives have been used to deploy this site: Apache, MySQL, PHP, XHTML 1.0, CSS 2.0, Ecmascript.

Design Notes

This project has endeavoured to bring inspiration from the world around us into webpages. Like it's sister site, www.Native-Drums.ca, www.Native-Dance.ca has backgrounds and colour schemes can be changed and maintained independently of each other. As well, in harmony with Native Drums, circular and curved layout patterns have been used throughout, notably in the curved edges to the text, the planet motif, and the major and minor button arcs. The interactive version of this site goes further and introduces a motion component and transparency effects extending the persistent yet variable nature of the site.
